District Malawi estimates K39.9 million in property lost due to armed robberies

Northern Region Commissioner of Police Wilson Matinga said armed robbery cases, which are rampant, worry investors apart from putting people’s lives at risk.

“It is disheartened to note that some of the registered guns are being used by armed robbers. Once a policy on firearm is in place, all registered guns will be coded so that they can be tracked,” said the Police Commissioner.

He disclosed that they managed recover seven illegal guns and 16 rounds of ammunition in the same period.

South Africa is one of the least religious countries in Africa. About 15 percent of the population identifies as having no religious affiliation and that includes atheists. While some would argue that the country’s non-theistic demography is mainly white, there is a growing number of black South Africans who are atheists and who do not profess any religion.
