Malawi President Peter Mutharika Leaving Wednesday For AU Summit in Ethiopia

LILONGWE (Maravipost)--The President of the Republic of Malawi H.E. Prof. Arthur Peter Mutharika is scheduled to leave the country for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia wednesday to attend the African Union Summit.



According to press statement authored by Chikondi Juma of State House says ‘’the State President Prof. Arthur Peter Mutharika will on Wednesday, January 28, leave the country for Ethiopia where he is scheduled to attend the 24th Ordinary African Union (AU) Assembly scheduled for JANUARY 30 to 31, 2015 in Addis Ababa.’’



The plane carrying President Mutharika is scheduled to leave Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) at 10.00 O’clock in the morning.



The statement further reads, ‘’during the Summit His Excellency Prof. Mutharika will also meet leaders of different countries and organisations to update them on the disaster that has hit the nation as well as thank them for the assistance rendered to Malawi so far in response to the disaster.’’

Zambian Elections declared Peaceful, Transparent, Credible, Free and Fair by SADC

The SADC Electoral Observation Mission (SEOM) to the Presidential By-Elections in the Republic of Zambia has declared the elections to have been peaceful, transparent, credible, free, and fair, thus reflecting the will of the people of Zambia in accordance with the National Laws and the SADC Principles and Guidelines Governing Democratic Elections. This is contained in the statement released today by Honourable Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, Chairperson of the SADC Ministerial Committee of the Organ, Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa, and Head of the SADC Electoral Observer Mission to the Elections in the Republic of Zambia; accompanied by H.E. Dr. Stergomena Lawrence Tax, SADC Executive Secretary; and Members of the SADC Troika. The declaration is based on SEOM observations throughout the electoral process.
